Welcome to Mkrtchyan's Cafe, a hidden gem nestled in Alaverdi, Armenia, where flavors meet hospitality in a charming setting. This cafe is not just about coffee; it's an experience that transcends the typical cafe fare, offering a delightful menu that caters to both local and international palates. Whether you're stopping by for a light afternoon bite or settling in for a hearty dinner, Mkrtchyan's presents a diverse array of dishes that showcase the rich culinary traditions of the region.

Step into Mkrtchyan's Cafe and immerse yourself in its inviting atmosphere. The spacious outdoor seating allows you to soak in the beauty of Alaverdi while enjoying your meal. The cafe boasts a repertoire of dishes that are both comforting and satisfying, including crowd favorites like the succulent kebabs and fragrant dolma. Patrons rave about the quality of the food, with one visitor noting the “tasty food” that is more akin to a full restaurant menu rather than typical cafe selections.

Furthermore, the service at Mkrtchyan's is frequently commended, with staff members who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. As highlighted in a review, visitors often refer to the staff as “lovely” and mention how they make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is complemented by the calming presence of an aquarium, adding a unique touch to your dining experience.

Pricing at Mkrtchyan's is surprisingly affordable, making it an excellent value for both locals and tourists. A recent visitor shared their delightful experience, stating they spent just 6,000 AMD for a sumptuous spread that included grilled vegetables, tabbouleh, and mineral water—a testament to the cafe's commitment to offering generous portions without breaking the bank.

However, if you are pondering over menu items, you may want to tread carefully with the veal fillet, as mentioned by one reviewer who found it overcooked. Yet, do not let that deter you; the widespread acclaim for other dishes, such as the kebabs—which received a special mention for their incredible flavor—is worth the visit alone.

Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely lunch, a cozy dinner, or just a coffee break while exploring Alaverdi, Mkrtchyan's Cafe stands out as a must-visit destination in Sanahin. It's a place where good food meets great service, ensuring that every visit leaves you not just satisfied, but eager to return. Come for the food, stay for the hospitality, and leave with wonderful memories!

Good menu to start with (in several languages including English, and serving real dinner dishes, not just cafe food ), tasty food, outside seating, some English spoken. Definitely my choice in Sanahin!

Without a doubt the best place in town for lunch or dinner. Special mention to the lovely staff who make you feel right at home.

Compared to the two other restaurants in the town, which were closed or completely ignored me (Mendz Er) when I walked in, this cafe welcomed and served me straight away. They had a decent menu and the food was hearty. It was noticeable that this is where the locals seemed to go.
